There seems to be trend of porn stars not running their own social media accounts (Twitter, IG, Facebook, etc.) and giving social media specialists, publicists, assistants, managers, and other random people the power to run it for them. Your brand and image are the most important things you have—you need to control how you are portrayed.
Here are some reasons why you need to run your own accounts:
- The person running your account(s) might not have your best interest as their motivator. They may have some sort of other agenda, like making money off you or they might use your social media to promote another person and/or product.
- They could be Tweeting negative things or fighting with other people on Twitter or doing other things to ruin your reputation.
- Your fans need to know they’re really interacting with you–if they think it’s someone else, you could lose fans and ruin their perception of you. And, if you’re not interacting with your fans, you need to start.
You can put most social media apps on your phone and take a few minutes here and there each day to run your accounts. You can also use different scheduling apps to maximize your time and still get the word about your upcoming and current projects. We are social media experts–we won’t run your accounts for you.
